The early demands for DRAKO's products came from mining customers. Today we are still producing hoist ropes, balance ropes and guide ropes, as well as winch ropes for the petroleum industry with the utmost precision.
Wire ropes for open cast mining
The main ropes used in bucket wheel excavators in open cast mines are often up to 75 mm thick, and the material is exposed to extraordinary stresses. Here customers rely on the support of DRAKO wire ropes.

Wire ropes for cranes and construction industry
We manufacture heavy-duty special wire ropes for demanding applications such as shelf control units, foundry cranes in steelworks, grabs or winches, used under high temperatures or for heavy loads.
Wire ropes for deep-sea research
DRAKO winch ropes have a long tradition on research ships such as „Meteor“, „Sonne“, „Poseidon“ and „Maria S. Merian“. We produce ropes lengths of up to 11.000 m for such applications.
